I MOVE PEOPLE
My real estate journey began in early 2006 when the market was high and homes were moving quickly. Selling homes was fun, “easy”, and I felt lucky to be in a career I was well-suited for. Here, I could use my skills and talents to help others… and make lots of money. Then 2007 hit. My real estate bubble burst, along with the Housing Market. Everyone was thrown into crisis, including me. I was a new agent, a newly single mother, and I knew I had to make this work.
Over the next few years there were evenings spent at kitchen tables, with clients who were losing their homes. I quickly learned everything I could about their options, presented them calmly, and guided them to their best solution. With the swift switch to a buyer’s market, I worked hard to get renters into their first homes, artists into live/work spaces, and investors to build their rental portfolios; all of whom have built wealth through real estate.
I’ve worked through buyer’s markets, seller’s markets, historically low interest rates, and their eventual rise, and I know the positive impact of owning real estate goes far beyond that down-market moment. Owning a home is a stepping-stone to intergenerational wealth.
Over the past twenty years I’ve learned a few things:
- Real estate, historically, creates more wealth for average Americans than any other investment.
- Market knowledge is essential, but not always the primary decision maker.
- People are driven to buy and sell homes based on changes in their lives, rather than changes in the market.
I AM AN AGENT OF CHANGE.
To me, real estate transactions are as much a human transaction as a business one. My job is to guide you to your personal goals, keep the business side top of mind, and balance both to make yours a stress-free process. It starts by listening deeply to the wide array of your needs and wants, doing extensive market research to narrow our focus and find your best way forward. It continues as I advocate for you during the process, negotiate the price and terms that best suit you, and always tell you the truth, even when it’s hard to hear. I’m just as likely to tell you why you shouldn’t buy or sell a house, if that’s what’s in your best interest. It’s on this advocacy, honesty, and expertise that I have built my business, thanks to a strong community of enthusiastic clients, who for twenty years have used my services and referred me to their friends and families. I am honored to work with them
Some things about me
- I’ve spent my life in the arts, working as an actor, director, playwright and author. This has been the best training ground for developing life skills and understanding people.
- I could live in yoga pants or Paris, but never at the same time.
- I believe seeing the Milky Way puts everything in perspective and do that as often as possible.
- I believe it’s not enough to be touched by life, you must be moved.
