Derek was born in Durban, South Africa. After earning his diploma in Business Management at age 21, he traveled to the USA for a year. On this journey, he discovered Vail, Colorado during a ski season, and what began as a brief trip evolved into a lifelong path.
In 1997, he started a window cleaning business in the Vail Valley, which grew over the next 24 years to become the largest in the area. He gradually structured the business, working long summers in Vail while spending the snowy winter months traveling, surfing, and expanding his worldview.
Married to his Denver-native wife, and with them spending many years owning properties and living between Vail and Denver, he sold his business, and they purchased their current home in a historic neighborhood in central Denver. Still owning his income-generating rental property in the mountains, Derek wants to bring his entrepreneurial spirit to the lives of his clients. With over 30 years in Colorado, he’s dedicated to providing exceptional client care and attention to detail, helping clients achieve their real estate goals.
Outside of work, he remains an avid traveler, surfer, snowboarder, and yoga enthusiast, constantly reminded of all that life has to offer.
