Ryan Rice is a native Colorado Artist, and has made his impact on the Colorado art community over the last 20 years. Specializing in oil on canvas, Rice allows his humor and joy of beautiful imagery shine through his work. Awarded the 2017 Brandon Borchert Pop Art Award, Rice continues to wow his audience with humor and beauty with every piece he creates. This show, “Double Entendre”, highlights both his humor and pun paintings, which kicked off his career, as well as his more recent acclaimed portraiture work.

"My artwork can be seen in many of the renowned galleries and museums worldwide-granted you have a computer and internet connection. My artwork is a reflection of me; funny, witty, smart, opinionated and always unexpected. I created a name for myself painting humorous paintings, puns and play on words. Recently, I’ve added many figurative and pop culture paintings. I paint images that I find beautiful, vividly inspiring and create emotion in me. I strive to challenge myself every time I pick up a paintbrush or mix colors. It is through this challenge that inspires me to try new things, advance my work and continually create new pieces. When I finish a painting, I am ready for it to find its new home. I have had my time in creation and development, and when it’s finished, my time with it is over, and I know it was created for someone else’s enjoyment. I love what I do. I love creating artwork, and I’m proud of the images I create. Beautiful, meaningful images that speak to individuals as much as they spoke to me."
