Colorado is a breathtakingly and uniquely beautiful state. The mountains, crystal waters, snow, forests, and plant life is nature's masterpiece.
But, when you add the colors, music, fun, and adventures that are added during the spring and summer festival season, It takes beauty to a heavenly (or should we say Mile-High) level.
Here are a few favorite festivals from our friends at ZocDoc and Denver.org...who want you to have a great time AND stay healthy in Colorado this Summer!
DÍA DEL NIÑO
Translated as “Day of the child” this is a free weekend-long festival, beginning April 29th at Denver Art Museum. Entry is free, and there are tons of activities, artmaking projects, and entertainment for the entire family. The activities will include live music, dancing, and celebrations from children around the world. Many businesses from the Denver and Boulder areas support this annual event. You do not want to miss it.
Five Points Jazz Festival
Head to the Denver neighborhood of Five Points for the Jazz Festival of all festivals. This area has several classic Jazz Clubs, and was once called the Harlem of the West. You will enjoy free concerts, food, and culture. You might just meet a few of the famous Jazz musicians that came out of this awesome place. The cost is free, and the date is May 19th. So make your plans now.
Colorado Barbecue Challenge
This is a major event and a Colorado tradition. Annually more than 32,000 people head to Frisco, CO for the best BBQ in the West. The event is free! It will take place June 14th through June 16th on Main Street. World famous grill masters will use their secrets and exclusive sauces to make the best BBQ you have ever out in your mouth. You do not want to miss this!
Strawberry Days Festival
Head over to Glenwood Springs, CO June 15th through 17th for the 12th annual Strawberry festival. Entry is free. There are old fashion carnival rides, plenty of food, fun, games, and activities. On Saturday night at the end of the event, there is free strawberries and ice cream for everyone. So this is a place you want to go for some old-fashioned down-home fun.
There are more events in the state than we can possibly name here. Denver alone has pages of festivals, hikes, runs, and parties. There are community events that include the wonderful and diverse population of the people who live there.
Of course, there is more to Colorado than just Denver, and the action is happening all across the state.
