Construction starts show no signs of slowing in Denver

The West + Main Homes team hears from folks every day who are having a tough time finding a place to rent in the Denver area. Hopefully this news from the Denver Post will bring a little bit of relief, and help to slow quickly rising rental rates:

You can make reservations at most campgrounds in Colorado’s national forests and national parks up to six months in advance through Recreation.gov. Be sure to select the “flexible” dates option so you can quickly look over a month of availability at once.

For some sites, you’ll have to pay close attention to that six-month mark. Established campgrounds near Maroon Bells — Silver Bell, Silver Bar, and Silver Queen — disappear as they become available. If you want to book July 10, the day to do that would be Jan. 10. (Shout out to the excellent Miss Adventure Pants for that suggestion.)

Denver will be one of the nation's top 10 "hottest" housing markets again in 2018, according to Zillow and the Denver Business Journal.

The Seattle online real estate company predicted Denver will be the seventh-"hottest" housing market in the country. It used criteria to define "hottest" including "quickly rising home values and rental prices, low unemployment rates, steady income growth and strong job opportunities with lots of people moving to the area."
