The couple, both federal workers, decided to use an inheritance to buy a house in Cleveland Park.

She Sheds Are The New Man Caves!

Men have their man caves, and now women are getting their own special spot: She Sheds.

The idea, which has been gaining steam across Pinterest as the weather warms up, is that women transform backyard sheds into a hideaway where they can escape the daily grind. And for several women, the escape is making a major difference.

Sandra Foster created a She Shed in New York’s Catskills mountains. She uses the shed, which has a sofa, books and even a loft with a bed, to escape the pressure and stress of work, and to get space from her husband when it’s needed.

“I did it to save my marriage and recharge my life,” Foster told TODAY Home.

Is Everyone Going to Fit in Denver?

Denver is growing at an extremely rapid pace,

with a house only being on the market for 26 days before selling at an average price of $496,382, according to July's market report.

This goes to ask, how many more homes will be available? The Denver-area developers are responding to this situation by creating smaller, denser, and taller apartments and homes that young adults and first-time buyers may not necessarily describe as affordable but at least attainable.

But the developers are meeting resistance on many fronts and warn that creative solutions are needed to allow people of average means to own property so Denver doesn’t become a city dominated by transitory apartment dwellers and the affluent.

Denver Neighborhoods with the Largest Home Price Appreciation in 2017

If money could talk and it had opinions about Denver real estate, here’s what it would tell you about the hottest neighborhoods in the city right now.

In this Chart of the Week, Denverite examined how median home prices in each neighborhood have changed from 2016 to 2017 so far. 

First, Denver’s southern neighborhoods have seen the biggest increase in home sale prices so far this year. In 2017 so far, Platt Park, University Park, and Hampden all had median sold home price increases of over 20 percent when compared to last year.
